My name is Daniel Roy, and I’m a digital storyteller.
I’m a senior AAA game writer and narrative designer, and my published game credits include Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Creative Assembly’s A Total War Saga: Troy, and EA Ghost’s Need for Speed Payback. I was a producer and project manager for Ubisoft and EA BioWare, and my production credits include Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent and an unpublished BioWare original IP.
I know game development inside and out.
As both a narrative game designer and former producer, I know that developers play a balancing act with art, design, programming and storytelling. I excel within the constraints of game production: I know what it is to manage a game development cycle, and I’m here to help. I can work with your team to create a narrative that will not only support, but elevate the ambitions of your team.
As a location-independent professional, I enjoy the freedom to work from anywhere in the world. I have the tools and skill set to work remotely, but I am open to periods of on-site collaboration as dictated by project needs. Originally from Montreal, Canada, I’ve visited fifty countries and lived in seven, and will soon relocate to Chengdu, China.
I’m a professional writer.
Writing is my career and my calling. In addition to writing game narratives, I’m also versed in the following:
- Fiction Writing
- Film Editing
- Copywriting & Copy Editing
- Marketing & Ad Copy
- Web Copywriting & SEO
- French-English Translation
Whether you’re creating your own mobile game alone in the proverbial garage, or you’re leading a AAA, multi-million-dollar production, I can help make your story shine and add that “wow” missing from your narrative design.
My rates are competitive and come with a guaranteed bang for your buck. Hit me up! Let’s create something your players will remember!
